Open Sessions

Volleyball is loads of fun and a very friendly game. It's the only high-energy, no contact, mixed team sport you can play indoors and outdoors - whatever your ability. Now is a great time to give volleyball a go and find out why it is one of the top three most-played sports in the world!

Whether you're a complete beginner and want to try the game for the first time, or you haven't played for a while and want to start playing again, these are the sessions for you!

The Sunday 6-8pm sessions are run with a fun atmosphere. It's a mixed-ability session which provides a wide ranging training and it helps everyone gets to know each other. The sessions are at Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre in Stowmarket. Then come along to Reception at the Leisure Centre and the staff will point you in the right direction. Newcomers are always welcome.

Juniors in Year 7 and above are welcome to these sessions where they will be playing alongside our adults. We encourage parents, guardians, etc to join in. For those in Year 7 and 8: If no adult is joining in we require a responsible adult to be available on the sports hall balcony. 

Pay-as-you-go prices for these sessions are:

• Full time students - £5
• Under 25's - £6
• Everyone else - £7

For 2024-25 we have scheduled indoor season sessions during the school term time on the following dates:

• September: 8, 15, 22, 29
• October: 6, 20 (no session on 13th; hall unavailable)
• November: 10, 17, 24
• December: 1, 8, 15

• January: 12, 19, 26
• February: 2, 23
• March: 9, 16, 23, 30 (no session on 2nd; hall unavailable)
• April: 27
• May: 4, 11, 18

So we're expecting to run 25 term-time sessions. We offer the option to spread the cost of the indoor volleyball season across the whole year at a discount in excess of 25%. The monthly prices to spread the cost of the above sessions over twelve months are:

• Full time students - £6.50
• Under 25's - £8
• Everyone else - £10.50

Sessions at either-end and during school holidays will be scheduled where we have demand and leadership capacity. These will be offered on a pay-as-you-go basis only.

Once it's warmer outside, we run sessions outdoors on The Rec for the summer.
